Odds are, any memory you believe you have before the age of 4 isn't real.

They are false memories and have usually either been told to you by someone else, or you made them up without knowing it.


It's called 'Childhood amnesia' and it means, generally, that won't remember anything that happened until you're about 4 years old. Some people can remember things from age 2, but it is rare. There are many theories why, but generally it is assumed this is because your brain hasn't developed enough to be able to form, store, and retrieve memories. In general the earliest memories of females are earlier and more vivid than those of males.
